Wanted: Consultant (Pensum 50%)

for psychosocial and legal counselling on all aspects of work and livelihood security.

Work content:

As a counsellor at the contact point for the unemployed, you will support people seeking advice in crises, in complex work situations and/or in exercising their rights. This requires a high level of social skills, an interest in the life situations of those seeking advice and the ability to communicate adequately with the people involved (employers, authorities, doctors) in tense situations. In addition, knowledge of labour and social security law is necessary.

The team at the contact point for the unemployed currently consists of 5 people and organises itself as a management team. As a future employee, you will therefore be asked to take on responsibility and to think cooperatively and in a spirit of solidarity in common interests. In addition to providing advice, you will also take on management tasks and show an interest in actively helping to shape the organisation.

Ideally, you should have:

• Enjoy counselling and contact with people
• Training in the social sector with legal expertise; or training as a lawyer with work experience in the social sector
• Professional experience in counselling
• Understanding and empathy for people in difficult life situations
• Expertise in labour and social security law
• Very good written and spoken German, other languages desired
• Independent working style, interest in self-organised club activities, ability to work in a team
