On the road together: Basel Theatre
Brief description
Visit performance of „MARS“ at the Basel Theatre: «I am young and rich and educated; and I am unhappy, neurotic and alone», with these words begins 'Mars', the cult book of the early 1980s. Having grown up in affluence, Fritz Angst from Zurich felt cheated out of life by the bourgeois coldness of his world and was brought up to die. Shortly before he lost his battle against cancer in 1976, he wrote a fiery tirade under the name Fritz Zorn: his illness was not a personal fate, but a reflection of social decay.
